Terms of service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Welcome to Beauty and the Button. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before placing an order through our website.
These terms explain the conditions under which we sell our products, accept orders, process payments and provide our services.
By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms of Service. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law.
Please also refer to our Shipping Policy, Refund & Returns Policy and Privacy & Cookie Policy for further information about our services and your rights.

2. Placing an Order
2.1 Ordering and Acceptance
When placing an order, please check that your selected products, sizes, colours, personalisation details and delivery information are correct before completing checkout.
Our checkout process provides an opportunity to review your order and correct errors before payment.
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase the selected products. Your order is accepted and a contract is formed when we send you an email confirming acceptance, normally through your order confirmation email.
Payment is normally collected when your order is placed.
We may decline an order before acceptance for legitimate reasons, including product unavailability, unsuccessful payment authorisation or an obvious pricing error.
If we are unable to fulfil an accepted order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible, explain the situation and provide the remedies to which you are entitled, including a refund where appropriate.
2.2 Changes to Orders
If you notice an error after placing an order, please contact us promptly at smile@beautyandthebutton.co.uk.
We will do our best to accommodate reasonable changes, although amendments may not always be possible once production has started.
This does not affect any statutory cancellation rights that apply to your order.
3. Products and Descriptions
3.1 Handmade and Made-to-Order Products
Beauty and the Button specialises in handmade, printed and made-to-order gifts, including mugs, clothing, cards, prints, framed artwork and other products.
Many of our products are prepared especially for each order rather than held as conventional ready-to-dispatch stock.
We take care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions and specifications are accurate and provide a fair representation of the products we sell.
Because of the nature of handmade and printed products, minor variations in colour, print positioning or finish may occasionally occur.
Colours may also appear slightly different depending on your device, screen settings and lighting.
These variations do not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, misdescribed or does not meet the standards required by law.
3.2 Product Dimensions and Specifications
Please check the measurements, sizes and specifications provided in individual product listings before ordering.
For prints and framed artwork, the dimensions of the artwork may differ from the external dimensions of the frame.
Our frames use glass and should be handled with care.
If you are unsure about a product's measurements, materials or specifications, please contact us before purchasing.
4. Personalisation and Customer-Supplied Content
4.1 Personalisation Details
Where a product offers personalisation, you are responsible for checking the accuracy of names, wording, spelling, dates and other information you provide.
We may make minor adjustments to the spacing, positioning or layout of personalisation to complement the product design.
We will not materially change your requested wording or design without seeking your agreement.
If you discover an error in your personalisation details after ordering, please contact us promptly. We will try to assist, although changes may not be possible once production has started.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where we have made an error, supplied an incorrect product or failed to meet our contractual obligations.
4.2 Customer-Supplied Artwork, Photographs and Content
Some products allow customers to provide photographs, artwork, wording or other material for incorporation into a design.
By supplying this material, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or permission for us to use it to fulfil your order.
You give Beauty and the Button permission to reproduce, adapt or process the supplied material as reasonably necessary to produce the products you have requested.
You retain any intellectual property rights you already hold in your original content.
We may decline requests involving unlawful, abusive or copyright-infringing material.
Personal information and customer-supplied content are handled in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
5. Prices, Payments and Promotions
5.1 Prices
Prices on our UK website are displayed in pounds sterling (£), unless another currency is expressly shown.
Prices include VAT where applicable.
Any applicable delivery charges and optional services will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
We may change product prices from time to time. Price changes will not affect orders already accepted at the agreed price.
If we identify an obvious pricing error before accepting an order, we may contact you to explain the error and offer you the opportunity to purchase at the correct price or cancel your order.
Where a pricing error is identified after an order has been accepted, we will contact you to discuss an appropriate resolution in accordance with your legal rights. We will not charge you more than the agreed price without your consent.
5.2 Payment Methods
We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout, which may include Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna and other supported payment options.
Payments are processed securely through the relevant payment provider.
Some payment methods, including Klarna, may be subject to additional terms and eligibility requirements set by the payment provider.
Any separate agreement between you and a payment provider does not remove Beauty and the Button's statutory obligations concerning the products we supply.
5.3 Promotional Offers and Discount Codes
Promotional offers, discount codes and special deals are subject to any eligibility requirements, exclusions, expiry dates or other conditions stated with the relevant promotion.
Unless expressly permitted, promotional offers cannot normally be combined.
We may amend or withdraw promotional offers for future orders, but this will not retrospectively change the agreed price or conditions of an order already accepted.
Purchases made using promotional codes or sale prices remain subject to applicable statutory consumer rights.
6. Production, Shipping and Delivery
Many Beauty and the Button products are handmade or prepared to order, so production time must be allowed before dispatch.
Production, processing and carrier delivery are separate stages of fulfilling an order.
Estimated production and delivery times are not unconditional guarantees. Any expressly agreed delivery deadline and your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Where available, our paid Priority Processing option moves an order ahead in the handmade production queue. It does not guarantee same-day or next-day production, dispatch or arrival.
Our principal delivery provider is Royal Mail, although other suitable providers may occasionally be used.
We primarily serve customers within the United Kingdom. International delivery may occasionally be available by arrangement.
Full information about production times, Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Tracked 48, Priority Processing, delivery charges, delays and missing parcels is available in our Shipping Policy.
Nothing in these terms removes our legal responsibilities concerning delivery of your order.
7. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
We want you to be happy with your purchase and will handle cancellations, returns and refunds in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.
For most eligible online purchases, consumers have a statutory right to cancel without giving a reason within 14 days after receiving their goods, subject to applicable exceptions.
Products made to a customer's individual specifications or clearly personalised may be excluded from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right.
However, simply making, printing or assembling a standard catalogue product after an order is placed does not automatically remove the customer's right to cancel.
Our Refund & Returns Policy explains:
- Statutory cancellation rights and how to cancel an eligible order.
- Personalised and bespoke product exceptions.
- Returning unwanted products, including clothing and framed artwork.
- Return postage and refund timescales.
- Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods.
- Exchanges and the available statutory remedies.
- The optional model cancellation form.
Nothing in these Terms of Service or our Refund & Returns Policy excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights.
8. Website Use and Customer Accounts
Our website is provided to allow customers to browse and purchase Beauty and the Button products and access information about our business.
Customer accounts are available for convenience. Where guest checkout is offered, creating an account is not required to place an order.
If you use a customer account, please take reasonable care to keep your account access details secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised use.
You must not misuse our website, attempt unauthorised access to its systems, interfere with its normal operation or use it for unlawful purposes.
We aim to keep our website available and functioning correctly, but temporary interruptions may occasionally occur because of maintenance, technical issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in this section affects our obligations under an existing purchase contract or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Intellectual Property
Our original designs, illustrations, photographs, product images, written content, branding and other protected materials belong to Beauty and the Button or their respective rights holders, unless otherwise stated.
You may browse our website, view its content and share links to our products for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You must not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use our protected designs, artwork or other intellectual property without the relevant permission, except where permitted by law.
Purchasing a product does not transfer ownership of any underlying copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights.
Nothing in this section removes rights you may hold in content you have supplied to us for personalisation.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website uses Shopify and may include payment services, delivery services and links to other websites operated by third parties.
Third-party services may have their own terms, conditions and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the independent content or operation of third-party websites that we do not control.
However, using third-party services to process payments or deliver orders does not remove our contractual or statutory responsibilities to you as the retailer.
11. Liability and Statutory Consumer Rights
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
A loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of the breach or if it was contemplated by you and us when the contract was formed.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
Where products are purchased by consumers for personal use, we are not normally responsible for business losses arising from their use for commercial purposes.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or overrides your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
12. Business, Bulk and Wedding Orders
Beauty and the Button welcomes enquiries for bulk purchases, business orders, wedding gifts and other special requirements.
Depending on the nature, quantity and specifications of an order, separate arrangements may be agreed in writing before purchase.
Purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes may be subject to different contractual arrangements from consumer purchases.
Where an order is placed by a consumer for personal purposes, applicable statutory consumer protections remain in place.
For enquiries about special orders, please email smile@beautyandthebutton.co.uk.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to our business, products, services or applicable legal requirements.
The latest version will be published on this page, together with its revision date.
Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms applicable to an order already placed unless expressly agreed or required by law.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain the benefit of any applicable mandatory consumer protections and your rights to bring legal proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law.
Where we agree to supply products to customers outside the United Kingdom, any mandatory consumer protections applicable to those purchases remain unaffected.
15. Questions, Complaints and Contact Details
If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, an order or a product, please contact us. We will do our best to resolve any concerns fairly and promptly.
